According to the official Tajik news agency, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Afghan President Hamid Karzai signed a joint statement in Dushanbe on Wednesday. The statement said the three leaders have reached consensus that the three central Asian countries were rooted deep in history for common cultural traditions and religion, and their development was necessary for each other.

The leaders pledged to strengthen cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking, the construction of transportation facilities, and coordination on important international and regional issues, said the joint statement.
