The McCanns: Another blast from the past!

I made a post on Sept 28 entitled, "The McCanns: A post from May 17, 2006 - a sign of things to come." To be correct, it was a repost of one I had made in May 2006 in which I had a little rant about notices on supermarket trolleys warning parents not to leave their children unattended.

Quote: Do parents really need to be to told not to leave children unattended? If so, why are they allowed to have children in the first bloody place! O.K. I realise it is quite likely the supermarket is covering it's arse in case any parent loses their child in a supermarket and phones their lawyer before they phone the police. Then of course, the parents will have to phone Channel 7's six o' clock news, so they can appear on our screens tearfully complaining that the supermarket did not take adequate measures to ensure their child was not lost or abducted. Just for good measure, they will also blame the government.

Today a reader (Hi Maiden!) reminded me of a post I made on Feb 17, 2007 "Can you spot what's wrong with this photo? "

I had a little rant about the fact that, "as far as I can see there are four kids and two alleged adults. Only one is wearing a life jacket. Not only is it irresponsible - it is also illegal."

But wait - there's more!

On the weekend this particular stretch of river is full of high speed boats. In one shot taken today, there are four speedboats in the same photo - all going different directions. For four boats to be in the same photo, it's obvious they must have been close together - a pretty clear indication of how crowded it can get.

I can just picture the scenario - can't you? Another boat slams into this one and a kid gets killed. The parents then appear on TV, dabbing tears from their eyes, claiming it's a dangerous stretch of river, and the government should do something about it. The State Opposition party will call for an enquiry and the State government will respond with a knee-jerk reaction that spoils the enjoyment of those who act responsibly.

The TV news will then launch the obligatory appeal, and gullible suckers will trot along to their bank to make a donation so that a pair of boof-heads can live in more comfort than they did before. Maybe they can buy a bigger boat and carry more kids without life jackets.

I think I have had a gutful of brain-dead parents blaming "accidents" on some one else and expecting the rest of us to pay for their ignorance and stupidity.

Team McCann, if you are going to read my blog to give you ideas, here is another one for you.

Tell us what happened on May 3, and let the little girl who you owed so much and gave so little, have some peace, dignity and respect.

All the things Team H are going to help the justice system make sure you are denied.
