Madeleine McCann: Filming has begun on Maddie - The Truth of the Lie

The book written by ex-detective Goncalo Amaral, who investigated the alleged disappearance of Madeleine McCann, is to be adapted for a television documentary, according to its producers.

Maddie - The Truth of the Lie - will be narrated by Mr Amaral. The documentary began filming this week in Algarve, the region where the girl went missing in May 2007.

Cristina Valente, a manager in the Portuguese production company Valentim de Carvalho, said: "This documentary, currently being filmed, is based on the book by the former judicial police inspector,'' .

Portuguese private television channel TVI has acquired the rights to the film.

In his 214-page book, Mr Amaral repeats accusations of involvement by Maddie's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, in their daughter's disappearance.

Hopefully Mr Amaral, who unlike the McCanns and their friends, is one of the many innocent victims in this tragedy, will receive compensation - instead of those who so far have been rewarded for their part in what happened the fateful night of May 3, 2007.

Clarence, will you be huffing and puffing and threatening to sue - or do you prefer to choose an obliging British media who unlike other countries, are more than happy to financially reward those who leave their children unprotected, unguarded and unwelcome at the dinner table.

Recently an Australian father and son actively searched for a 21 year old girl - to the point of exhaustion. Obviously the Australian definition of leaving no stone unturned is quite different to that of your clients..

Viva La Difference.
