Bilateral Relations: Macedonia - Greece can put monuments wherever it wants and of who ever it wants

Greece can put monuments wherever it wants and of who ever it wants. That is how Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented the information that Greece wants to put monument of Alexander the Great in Iraq, Macedonian Vecher newspaper reports.

According to deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zoran Patrov Macedonia will neither react nor will send protest note to Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Dora Bakoyannis.

“It is Grece's right to put monuments wherever it wants. It is Greece’s right to use the name of Alexander the Great wherever it wants. It is also Macedonia’s right. We will not react to this at all,” Petrov said.
